Ervin Lovett Miller completes store design

Ervin Lovett Miller (ELM) has completed the architectural design and construction documents for a new 5,000-square-foot Beard’s Jewelry store, to be located at the St. Johns Town Center. Construction is currently underway,Beards Jewelry Rendering small and the building is scheduled for completion later this summer.

“When finished, the Beard’s Jewelry building will be highly visible along the main entrance into St. Johns Town Center from Gate Parkway. Given its conspicuous position, it was important that it have a highly-tailored, distinctive presence which represents Beard’s Jewelry and its customers,” said Tim Miller, partner of Ervin Lovett Miller. “This is an important project, and our first commission within St. Johns Town Center. We believe the building’s design is of a quality that will elevate its stature and distinguish itself from ordinary retail buildings.”

ELM’s contemporary design brings natural light into the retail space and creates a sense of transparency for street traffic and pedestrians by incorporating more glass than typically found in conventional retail buildings. The interior of the store will reflect the character of the exterior, featuring simple, clean contemporary lines and an acute connection with the outdoor environment. The centerpiece of the building’s design is a 350-square-foot jewelry vault that will be prominently centered on the display cases, taking a reference from the monumental safes often found in historic banking buildings.
