SBDC lists February and March workshops

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of North Florida will offer a number of workshopssbdc for small business owners during February and March.  

To register or to get more information on any of the following workshops call 904-620-2476 or log on to www.sbdc.unf.edu. The workshops will take place at the UNF University Center, 12000 alumni Dr. Cost for all workshops is $40 in advance or $50 the day of the workshop.

• How to S-T-A-R-T-U-P Your Own Business. Feb. 23, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and March 23, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Description: This workshop will give you an overview of the seven basic requirements for business STARTUP.  A business startup kit for Duval and surrounding counties is included in the workshop fee.

• Where’s the Money?  And How Do I Get It? Feb. 18, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Description: Get the lowdown on financing options available to small businesses. Determine how much cash you need, find out where to get the cash you require, learn how the SBA guaranteed loan program works, and understand what a bank looks at when evaluating your loan package. This workshop will reveal the Top 10 Red Flags that might ultimately determine whether or not you receive the funding you need.

• Business Plan Basics. Mach 2, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Description: No matter what the purpose —to evaluate the feasibility of starting a business, or to present to a bank for financing, or to serve as a roadmap for the future — a business plan is a critical tool for successful small businesses. This workshop provides an overview of the format and content of a business plan. Participants will be introduced to the key components of a plan and resources to help get them started.

• Marketing 101. March 9, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Description:  Achieve your sales and marketing goals by understanding your product or services, customers, prospects and competitors.  This class is taught by a marketing professional.
