SBDC announces January-February workshops

All workshops will be conducted at the UNF University Center, 12000 Alumni Dr., Jacksonville.

• How to S-T-A-R-T-U-P Your Own Business. Jan. 19, 6 p.m.–9 p.m.; Feb. 23, 6 p.m.–9 p.m.; cost, $40 in advance, $50 day of workshop. This workshop gives an overview of the seven basic requirements for business STARTUP.  A business startup kit for Duval and surrounding counties is included in the workshop fee.

• Tax Facts. Jan. 26, 6 p.m.–9 p.m.; cost $40 in advance, $50 day of workshop. This workshop shows the tax implications of a business structure, what is and is not deductible, electronic filing, payroll taxes, and more.  This workshop is co-sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service.

• Where’s the Money?  And How Do I Get It? Feb. 18, 6 p.m.–9 p.m.; cost $40 in advance, $50 day of workshop. Participants will get the lowdown on financing options available to small businesses. In this workshop, they will determine how much cash they need, find out where to get the cash, learn how the SBA guaranteed loan program works, and understand what a bank looks at when evaluating a loan package.
