Grimes Companies wins award for international leadership

The Grimes Companies has been awarded International Business Leader of the Year—Small Company by thegrimessmall Cornerstone division of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Capturing the same award for Large Company was Rayonier, and for Individual, Roy Schleicher, chief of Commercial Services for JAXPORT.

The Grimes Companies was the small business award for its strength in the international logistics industry. The company provides manufacturers and distributors with storage, transportation, packaging and supply chain services. The Grimes Companies continues to be one of the region’s strongest supporters of growth in the logistics industry.

The award went to Rayonier because of its leadership in the international marketplace. Rayonier has three global core businesses in timber, real estate, and performance fibers, which serve nearly 40 countries. Together, this mix along with geographic and market diversity, consistently provides the company quality earnings and strong cash flow through the economic cycle.

The individual award recognized Schleicher’s dedication to bringing international business to Jacksonville and his work in expanding JAXPORT’s potential as an international port are only a few of the reasons he was selected for this award.

The Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership is comprised of 300 top private sector investor corporate entities in the Jacksonville area  in partnership with the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, the JEDC, JEA, the regional county partners – Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam and St. Johns, WorkSource, the Jacksonville Port Authority, the Jacksonville Airport Authority and others.
