P.V.B. festival attracts hundreds

Hundreds of people recently attended the Ponte Vedra Beach Food and WineFest, a three-day celebration of fineApril Hart (left) and Tom Rankin.small wines and gourmet food presented by the Ponte Vedra Beach Chamber of Commerce.

“Our eighth annual food and wine weekend extravaganza was a tremendous success,” said Ginger Lilley Peace, executive director of the Ponte Vedra Beach Chamber of Commerce.  “Guest attending the events enjoyed a spectacular selection of fine wines and delicious cuisine prepared by some of the area’s best chefs and restaurants.”    

The Ponte Vedra Beach Food and WineFest featured three events, all held at the Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa, a Marriott Resort.

The festivities opened on Friday evening with Una Noche Especial, which offered a four-course tasting menu prepared by the Sawgrass Marriott’s Chef David Scalise.  The Friday evening event also offered live and silent auctions.  The items included a trip to Argentina with a special tour of the evening’s featured winery, a cruise for 10 on an Aqua Direct yacht and jewelry from Underwoods. 

The Grand Tasting was on Saturday afternoon.  Guests also enjoyed a silent auction. Masked bottles containing domestic and international fine wines highlighted the Sunday Champagne Brunch, which featured a four-course menu prepared by Chef Brett A. Smith at the Marriott’s restaurant, the Augustine Grille.

The Ponte Vedra Beach Food and WineFest sponsors included Clockwork Marketing, Brower Financial, Donovan Heat & Air, Frances King Agency, Hocevar Video, Ponte Vedra Endodontics, and Smith Appraisal Service.
