Women’s Business Advisory council to start in St. Augustine

A mentoring program for women business owners, Business Advisory Councils, (BAC) is starting in St. Augustinewomens business center logo at the Wachovia Branch, 24 Cathedral Place.  BAC’s are facilitated through the Jacksonville Women’s Business Center, a program of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

Participants receive peer-to-peer mentoring from of a group of trustworthy and dynamic women business owners. This mentoring program provides the members with a confidential and interactive forum to expand their business knowledge, develop and apply critical skills, and reach their business potential.

Entrepreneurs commit to this program because they are willing to give and take advice, openly and honestly: to share ideas, brainstorm, network, and form a mutual support system of encouragement and accountability with other women business owners. They arrive with issues and challenges and leave with resources, ideas and solutions to overcome feelings of isolation; build confidence, develop a clearer vision for the success of the enterprise.

Once accepted, each participant is assigned to a 14-member group of women business owners at a similar stage of business development:

  • BAC members can have annual gross revenues up to $1 million.
  • The group meets monthly from under the guidance of a professional facilitator at a location to be determined.
  • Members are also invited to attend special events throughout the year.

Participants attend regular monthly meetings, contribute to the group with a spirit of cooperation and encouragement; and invest in the annual, renewable, and tax deductible $400 fee for the 10-month program. There is a $100 discount for members of Women Business Owners of North Florida, the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, and/or St Johns County Chamber of Commerce.

Monthly meetings will be held at the Wachovia Bank branch in St. Augustine at 24 Cathedral Place. For more information or to join contact or (904) 366-6640.
