Call for light parade participants

The City of Jacksonville Special Events Department is making a call for participants in its annual holiday lightlightparade parade on the St. Johns River, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m.

The light parade has been an event in Jacksonville for more than 20 years. The parade is open to sailboats and powerboats of all shapes and sizes but is limited to the first 100 vessels. Prizes will be awarded in several categories, including 30 feet and over, under 30 feet, sailboat, corporate/commercial, and organized club.

Prizes will go to:

• Grand overall,

• Best new entry,

• Private individual 30 feet and over (first and second place winners),

• Private individual under 30 feet (first and second place winners),

• Sailboat (first and second place winners),

• Corporate/commercial,

• Organized club,

• Holiday spirit.

A fireworks show will end the light parade.
