16 graduate from Professional Progress Leadership Program

Sixteen employees of local businesses and government agencies recently graduated from Professional Progress, aLeadership Ahead joint venture between the First Coast Manufacturers Association (FCMA) and the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Northeast District office.

The eight-month leadership program provides instruction, interaction, and discussion related to skills necessary for success in today’s workplace. Participants meet with First Coast business and government leaders to help strengthen working relationships between public and private sectors and to learn specialized skills that benefit both business and agency operations.

The program curriculum offers courses that include time management, financial planning, conflict resolution, presentation skills, basic law, civic pride, stress management, cultural awareness and overall professional development. This is the 13th graduating class since the program was created in 1997.

This year’s FCMA graduates are:

• Brent Cary, Medtronic;

• Jason Cobb, Milton J. Wood Company;

• Candace Dorn, The Shaw Group;

• Stephanie Hancock, WhiteWave Foods Company;

• Erika Harnek, Advanced Disposal Services;

• Scott LaSala, Golder Associates;

• Robert Nathan, IFF Chemical Holdings;

• Timothy Neas, Swisher;

• Lee Oreair, Richard L. Oreair & Company;

• Urmil Patel, Vistakon;

• Johnnie Pearson, Georgia-Pacific;

• Karen Schneider, WhiteWave Foods Company; and

• Laura Smith, Applied Technology & Management.
