Fund raiser to feature tango instruction

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s upcoming Wellington Homes Tango by Moonlight event, which will be Nov. 7 atTango by Moonlight Artwork The Carling in downtown Jacksonville, will include tango performances and instructional lessons by Dance Alday. Live entertainment and music will be provided by Artisan Ensemble, a local Jacksonville band that will perform classic hits throughout the evening for everyone to enjoy. All food will be catered by Bistro AIX.

“Tango by Moonlight is a unique fundraiser that helps raise awareness and money to find a cure for cystic fibrosis while also allowing guests to enjoy an evening of fun and dancing,” said Maxine McBride, chair of the Wellington Homes Tango by Moonlight committee. “We invite everyone in the city to join us for an evening to remember and a great cause to support.”

Tango by Moonlight will be from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Nov. 7, at The Carling. In addition to Argentine tango and salsa performances by Dance Alday, live music, and catering by Bistro AIX, guests will have the opportunity to participate in an auction. The title sponsor for the event is Wellington Homes, a new homebuilder in the Jacksonville area founded by Richard J. Dalton.

Additional sponsors include Deutsche Bank, GreenPointe Holdings, Clockwork Marketing Services, Financial & Retirement Planning Associates, LLC, Dr. & Mrs. Albert Wilkinson, III, Rayonier, McNeal & White General Contractors, CFO Strategic Solutions,, Moen Faucets, and Insurance Office of America. Bruce Hamilton, news anchor for WJXT Channel 4, will be the emcee for the evening and Aaron Bean will serve as the auctioneer.

Since the first Moonlight event in 2002, formally known as Moonlight Martinis, more than $690,000 has been raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s research and care programs. Sponsorships for Wellington Homes Tango by Moonlight are available and range from $500 to $8,000. Individual admission is $100.
