First Coast Business Hall of Fame honorees announced

The names of the four Jacksonville-area business leaders who will be inducted into the First Coasthall_of_fame Business Hall of Fame of the Florida Council on Economic Education (FCEE) have been announced.

The recipients of the honor are:

• Barry  Allred, chairman and CEO of Elkins Constructors;

• Dr. Carlton D. Jones, chairman  and president, Renaissance Design Build Group;

• David Smith, chairman  and CEO, PSS World Medical; and

• Michael Ward, chairman and CEO, CSX Corporation.

The honorees will be acknowledged on Oct. 16. At FCEE’s 11th annual luncheon and induction ceremony, which will take place at the Hyatt in downtown Jacksonville.

The 2009 selection committee consisted of Tom Galvin, Steven T. Halverson,M.C. “Ceree” Harden III, William Cordell Mason III, Ed.D., Chris Oakley, M. Lynn Pappas, Robert T. Shircliff, Martin E. “ Hap” Stein, Jr., Carol Thompson, and Jack Uible.

Leerie T. Jenkins, Jr. was the chairperson of the Event and Selection Committee.

FCEE is a non-profit organization funded by leading organizations and individuals throughout the state. It provides free programs on financial literacy, business and entrepreneurship, stock markets and investments, macroeconomics, careers, and economics to teachers throughout Florida.
