2,300 seek work in first days of virtual job fair

A virtual job fair that opened July 13 and will run through July 17 has already attracted 2,300 jobseekers, said Candace worksourcesmalli2Moody, vice president of communications for WorkSource, the primary sponsor of the event.

The job fair, co-sponsored by First Coast Manufacturers Association and Florida Community College, offered employers access to jobseekers through an entirely online recruiting process. This is the second time WorkSource has offered a virtual job fair. The first one was in April and featured 900 openings in 58 companies. The event attracted more than 4,200 individuals looking for a job.

The next event will be October 12–16, 2009.
