Green expo set for April 25-26

Jacksonville’s second semi-annual Green Expo, a green business tradeshow, will get underway April 25-26, the weekend following Earth Day. The Expo will be at the Prime Osborn Convention Center. More than 100 exhibitoFresh tasty vegetables isolated on whiters are anticipated.

According to Global GreenUp, LLC, promoters of the event, the goal of the Expo is to help Jacksonville intensify its growing-green awareness with the aim of having it become listed on MSN.com’s list of America’s top five greenest cities within the next decade.

At the inaugural event in October 2008 the Expo had 45 exhibitors and more than 1,500 attendees.

The Expo is designed to educate individuals, communities, businesses, and policy makers in an effort to promote sustainable living through efficient, renewable energy, and the conservation of water and land resources. It will feature a green film festival, classes and workshops, hourly raffles, organic beer, wine, and food tasting, solar and wind energy demonstrations, and low-emission hybrid car demonstrations. Visitors are encouraged to bring reusable household items and electronics for e-recycling. Admission if $5, with children under 12 free.
