Seminar to answer basics on ‘going green’

Small business owners interested in knowing what “going green” really means are invited to abeaverstreetlogo1 LEED Basics Seminar, put on by Alliance Business Consults, Inc, at the Beaver Street Enterprise Center on Sept. 15.

Intended for an audience of interior designers, contractors, and janitorial and lawn maintenance professionals, the seminar will answer basic questions such as:

• What does going green mean?

• How will going green affect my business?

• How can I market as a green company?

• How will Jacksonville’s sustainable ordinance impact my business?

Guest speaker for the seminar will be Catherine Burkee, M.Ed., LEED AP, of Breaking Ground Education Services. It is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sept. 15. Cost is $25. (A portion of the proceeds will be donated to First Coast business Alliance, Inc., MEDWeek Youth Programs.) Register online at http://leedbasics.eventbrite.com by Sept. 11.
